Dungeons & Cats Rules Usage Notice

Subject to this notice, you may use the Dungeons & Cats rules free of charge for the following activities:

• Private or public tabletop sessions, club activities, non-commercial projects, and in-character roleplay groups
• Creating characters, campaigns, and original settings with these rules
• Modifying the rules for your group or using house rules
• Creating and freely sharing original adventures, campaigns, class expansions, abilities, character-sheet templates, and play aids
• Freely sharing session reports, play records, audio, video, or livestreams
• Introducing and promoting related work in non-commercial communities, forums, and other platforms

Creating with these rules does not transfer ownership of your work to the creator of Dungeons & Cats. You retain the rights to your original plots, characters, writing, art, and other original material.

When publicly releasing an adventure, expansion, project, or other work based on these rules, include the following:

• “Made for the Dungeons & Cats rules”

You may not do any of the following without the creator’s express permission:

• Sell adventures, class expansions, abilities, character-sheet templates, or other material made with these rules
• Charge for running games, reading access, downloads, instruction, or commercial commissions
• Earn revenue through memberships, subscriptions, crowdfunding, commercial sponsorship, or embedded advertising
• Use these rules and their derivatives as the main basis for platform creator revenue
• Reproduce, re-upload, or repackage the Dungeons & Cats rulebook in full
• Copy substantial portions of original rules text, class material, ability descriptions, or original settings from the rulebook or website
• Republish the site’s original content in full or create a mirror that impersonates or replaces the official project website
• Remove creator credits, source information, or rights notices
• Repackage original Dungeons & Cats rules material as your own original rules system
• Describe related work as an “official adventure”, “official class”, “official collaboration”, or “creator-approved content”
• Imply approval, authorisation, or endorsement from the creator of Dungeons & Cats, the Warriors rights holders, or any other relevant rights holder
• Use the Dungeons & Cats name, logo, or other brand identifiers as the official identity of another project without permission

“Non-commercial use” means that earning money, securing a commercial advantage, or promoting a commercial service is not the activity’s main purpose.

The following are normally considered commercial use:

• Sales or paid downloads
• Paywalled reading, members-only material, or subscription access
• Paid game mastering or instruction
• Commercial commissions
• Revenue from crowdfunding, sponsorship, or embedded advertising
• Using related content as part of a commercial product, service, or promotional campaign
• Earning platform revenue primarily from Dungeons & Cats rules content

This notice does not grant permission for commercial use. Contact the creator in advance if you are unsure whether a proposed use is non-commercial.

Creating adventures, characters, class expansions, or projects with the Dungeons & Cats rules does not automatically transfer those original works to the creator of Dungeons & Cats.

Creators retain rights to their original:

Using these rules does not grant ownership of:

Dungeons & Cats is an unofficial fan project.

This notice grants no right to use Warriors, Dungeons & Dragons, or any other third-party intellectual property. Users are responsible for confirming that they may lawfully use any characters, names, settings, art, music, fonts, or other material included in their work.

Permission from the creator of Dungeons & Cats does not amount to permission from any third-party rights holder.

If this notice is breached, the creator may ask the user to:

• Add or correct attribution
• Remove misleading claims of official status
• End paid or commercial use
• Remove copied, re-uploaded, or republished material that breaches this notice
• Stop using the Dungeons & Cats name or brand identifiers
• Take other reasonable corrective action

The creator may withdraw permission from a user who declines to address a breach after being notified.

This notice does not grant permission for commercial use. You may contact the creator to discuss collaborations or other special uses. Any use involving Warriors, D&D, or other third-party material still requires permission from the relevant rights holders.

These rules are currently shared as an unofficial, non-commercial fan project. The creator retains the applicable rights to their original material and may update this notice as the project develops.
